Herb Apothecary is 54 important Chinese herbs on classy cream paper. They are begging for color. Stylized drawings show each herb in both live and dried form. Included is the herbal information from Herb Apocalypse’s Mini Materia Medica. This features an unusual, though correct, description of usage and the names and categories. Included is: the Chinese characters: the Pin Yin: approximate phonetic pronunciation: the botanical name: translation of the Chinese: the common name(s): category: flavor: temperature: channels: colors of the parts of the herb depicted. For students there is space for your notes. Some pages present with a bit extra blank space around the herb. Possibilities for these include a playground for stamping; color gradations; patterns; collage. Or perhaps they are just space for breathing and visual quiet. The following mediums work well on this paper: felt tip pens: colored pencils: thin water color, 1 or 2 layers. This paper works fine with layering all these mediums. Most paper wrinkling can be minimized by pressing under heavy books. You are welcome to try other mediums. There are some blank pages in the back for experimentation.
